What JumpCloud costs over 36 months

Every figure below is JumpCloud's own published rate, annualised and multiplied out over 36 months at 10 users. Where JumpCloud publishes no rate, the row says so instead of guessing.

Plan Charged List rate At 10 users 36 months
Device Management Per user, per month $9/mo $90/mo $3,240
SSO Per user, per month $11/mo $110/mo $3,960
Device Identity Management Per user, per month $13/mo $130/mo $4,680

Billing JumpCloud monthly instead of annually costs $110 a month rather than $90, a difference of $720 across the 36 months. That is the single largest lever on this page that costs nothing to pull.

The same plan at four team sizes

JumpCloud charges per user, so the 36-month figure scales linearly with headcount. These are Device Management totals, on annual billing, with no fees added.

Team size36-month total
5 users $1,620
10 users $3,240
25 users $8,100
50 users $16,200

Renewal sensitivity: three scenarios, not a forecast

Nobody knows what JumpCloud charges in 2029. The table below is arithmetic on a rate you choose, not a prediction: it compounds the year-one total forward at 0%, 5% and 10% so you can see how much of the 36-month figure is exposed to a renewal you have not negotiated yet.

If the rateYear 1Year 2Year 3Three-year total
Held flat $1,080 $1,080 $1,080 $3,240
5% a year $1,080 $1,134 $1,190.70 $3,404.70
10% a year $1,080 $1,188 $1,306.80 $3,574.80

Each line, what triggers it, and how to avoid it

Support and SLA

Stated on the pricing page: Premium support add-on: $2 to $3/user/month

What triggers it. Support is a separate product here. The Device Management plan buys the software at $90 a month for 10 users; response times, named contacts and any uptime commitment are priced apart from it.

How to avoid it. Get the response-time definition in the order form, with what counts as a P1. "Priority support" with no stated clock is a marketing phrase, not a commitment.

Paid add-on or module

Stated on the pricing page: Passwordless Authentication à la carte: $5 to $6/user/month

What triggers it. A separately-priced module. It stacks on top of the plan rate for as long as you keep it, and on a per-unit add-on it also scales with the 10 users basis.

How to avoid it. Bundle the add-ons into the initial negotiation. They are discounted far more readily at first signature than when added in year two as a mid-term upsell.

Feature gated to a higher tier

Stated on the pricing page: Platform Essentials capped at 300 users (forces upgrade to Platform)

What triggers it. Triggered by needing one feature, not by growing. This is the mechanism that moves teams off Device Management: a single requirement that only exists further up the ladder, at a rate that applies to every unit you buy.

How to avoid it. List every gated capability you will plausibly need in three years, then price JumpCloud at that tier from the start. Comparing entry tiers you will not stay on is how a $3,240 plan becomes a much larger invoice.

Usage and overage

Stated on the pricing page: Platform and Platform Prime require sales contact

What triggers it. Fires when consumption crosses the included limit. This is the line that decouples your JumpCloud bill from your headcount, and it can grow while your team does not.

How to avoid it. Ask JumpCloud for hard caps or alerting rather than silent overage billing. A limit that stops work is recoverable; an invoice you did not authorise is not.

Tax, FX and payment processing

Stated on the pricing page: Prices exclude VAT

What triggers it. Triggered by where you buy from and how you pay. JumpCloud's published per-user/month packages with à la carte sets the list rate; jurisdiction and payment rail set what sits on top of it.

How to avoid it. Register the correct billing entity before the first invoice, and check whether JumpCloud bills from a local entity. Fixing it after signature usually means credit notes, not refunds.

Contract and commitment terms

Derived from the published tiers: JumpCloud Device Management is $110 a month billed monthly against $90 on annual commitment, a $720 difference over 36 months at 10 users.

What triggers it. Triggered at signature. The $90 a month for 10 users rate is conditional on the commitment. Take the flexible route and the headline price is not the price you get.

How to avoid it. Negotiate the exit, not just the entry: termination for convenience, a downgrade path, and what happens to prepaid money. Those clauses cost nothing at signature and everything later.

Seat expansion

Derived from the published tiers: Five more users on Device Management add $1,620 across 36 months, on top of the $3,240 above.

What triggers it. Triggered by hiring. Every figure above is priced at 10 users; this line is what each unit past that costs, and it compounds for the remainder of the term rather than the remainder of the month.

How to avoid it. Audit entitlements quarterly. On a three-year term, seats assigned to people who left are the most reliably wasted money in the whole directory and device management budget.

How that compares across developer platforms, hosting, and dev tooling

The median developer platforms, hosting, and dev tooling tool we track charges $20 a month at its cheapest paid tier. Re-expressed on the same basis as the figure above, 10 users for 36 months, that median works out at $7,200.

JumpCloud lands $3,960 below that figure, 55.0%, measured across 61 tracked tools. A gap either way is a question, not a verdict: cheaper often means fewer included seats or a thinner support tier, and the fee lines below are where that difference usually reappears.

What changes at enterprise scale

Everything above prices the self-serve ladder. Enterprise sits off that ladder, which means the $3,240 figure is a floor for a large deployment rather than an estimate of one.

Platform Essentials, Platform, and Platform Prime are custom-quoted. Platform Essentials hard-caps at 300 users.

Frequently asked questions

How much does JumpCloud cost over three years?

$3,240 on Device Management at 10 users, billed annually, which is $90 a month held flat for 36 months. That figure covers the subscription only.

Does paying JumpCloud annually save money?

Yes. Monthly billing costs $110 a month against $90 on annual commitment, a difference of $720 over 36 months at 10 users.

What does JumpCloud charge for outside the plan price?

7 lines: support and sla, paid add-on or module, feature gated to a higher tier, usage and overage and 3 more. Each one is broken down above with what triggers it and how to avoid it.

Could JumpCloud cost more at renewal?

Possibly, and nothing on this page predicts it. If the rate held flat the three-year total would be $3,240; at a hypothetical 10% a year it would be $3,574.80. Cap the uplift in the contract and the question stops mattering.

What does JumpCloud cost for a team of 25?

$8,100 over 36 months on Device Management, billed annually. JumpCloud charges per user, so that scales directly with headcount.
