What Amplitude costs over 36 months

Every figure below is Amplitude's own published rate, annualised and multiplied out over 36 months at 1 account. Where Amplitude publishes no rate, the row says so instead of guessing.

Plan Charged List rate At 1 account 36 months
Free Free $0 $0/mo $0
Plus Flat, per month $49/mo $49/mo $1,764
Growth Sales-led Custom quote, not published n/a Custom quote, not published
Enterprise Sales-led Custom quote, not published n/a Custom quote, not published

Billing Amplitude monthly instead of annually costs $61 a month rather than $49, a difference of $432 across the 36 months. That is the single largest lever on this page that costs nothing to pull.

2 tiers are sales-led (Growth, Enterprise), so they carry no figure here.

Renewal sensitivity: three scenarios, not a forecast

Nobody knows what Amplitude charges in 2029. The table below is arithmetic on a rate you choose, not a prediction: it compounds the year-one total forward at 0%, 5% and 10% so you can see how much of the 36-month figure is exposed to a renewal you have not negotiated yet.

If the rateYear 1Year 2Year 3Three-year total
Held flat $588 $588 $588 $1,764
5% a year $588 $617.40 $648.27 $1,853.67
10% a year $588 $646.80 $711.48 $1,946.28

Scenario arithmetic on Amplitude's own published year-one figure. Uplift rates are illustrative inputs, not observed or predicted rates.

Each line, what triggers it, and how to avoid it

Usage and overage

Stated on the pricing page: MTUs/events, data history, experimentation, CDP, and governance can be separate quote drivers.

What triggers it. Triggered by volume, which nobody forecasts well. The Plus plan includes an allowance; everything past it is priced separately and does not appear anywhere in the $1,764 subscription total.

How to avoid it. Instrument your real consumption during the trial and size the plan to the ninetieth-percentile month, not the average one. Overages priced at list are always worse than the tier that would have included them.

Contract and commitment terms

Derived from the published tiers: Amplitude Plus is $61 a month billed monthly against $49 on annual commitment, a $432 difference over 36 months at 1 account.

What triggers it. Triggered at signature. The $49 a month for 1 account rate is conditional on the commitment. Take the flexible route and the headline price is not the price you get.

How to avoid it. Negotiate the exit, not just the entry: termination for convenience, a downgrade path, and what happens to prepaid money. Those clauses cost nothing at signature and everything later.

Unpublished pricing

Derived from the published tiers: 2 of 4 Amplitude tiers publish no price (Growth, Enterprise). No total on this page includes them.

What triggers it. Triggered by nothing you do. This is simply a number Amplitude does not publish. Every unpublished component is a hole in the $1,764 figure, which is built only from rates the vendor states.

How to avoid it. Ask for it in writing, itemised, before shortlisting. A vendor that will not put a number on a component at evaluation stage rarely gets more forthcoming after signature.

Trial and free-tier conversion

Derived from the published tiers: Amplitude publishes a free tier. Every 36-month figure above starts from the month you leave it, not from signup.

What triggers it. The clock, not a decision, triggers this one. Amplitude's free entry point ends on a date, and the $49 a month for 1 account rate starts whether or not anyone has finished evaluating.

How to avoid it. Diarise the conversion date and the cancellation route on day one. An unmanaged trial converting to Plus is the cheapest mistake on this page to prevent and the most common one to make.

How that compares across product analytics and behavioral analytics

The median product analytics and behavioral analytics tool we track charges $21 a month at its cheapest paid tier. Re-expressed on the same basis as the figure above, 1 account for 36 months, that median works out at $756.

Amplitude lands $1,008 above that figure, 133.3%, measured across 11 tracked tools. A gap either way is a question, not a verdict: cheaper often means fewer included seats or a thinner support tier, and the fee lines below are where that difference usually reappears.

What changes at enterprise scale

Everything above prices the self-serve ladder. Enterprise sits off that ladder, which means the $1,764 figure is a floor for a large deployment rather than an estimate of one.

Estimate analytics volume first; list price alone is not enough for Amplitude comparisons.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Amplitude cost over three years?

$1,764 on Plus at 1 account, billed annually, which is $49 a month held flat for 36 months. That figure covers the subscription only.

Does paying Amplitude annually save money?

Yes. Monthly billing costs $61 a month against $49 on annual commitment, a difference of $432 over 36 months at 1 account.

What does Amplitude charge for outside the plan price?

4 lines: usage and overage, contract and commitment terms, unpublished pricing, trial and free-tier conversion. Each one is broken down above with what triggers it and how to avoid it.

Could Amplitude cost more at renewal?

Possibly, and nothing on this page predicts it. If the rate held flat the three-year total would be $1,764; at a hypothetical 10% a year it would be $1,946.28. Cap the uplift in the contract and the question stops mattering.

Is Amplitude expensive for product analytics and behavioral analytics?

Over 36 months it lands $1,008 above the $756 category median, measured across 11 tracked tools on the same basis.
