How to avoid it. If a self-hosted option exists, price your own infrastructure and staff time against Xata's hosted rate honestly. Self-hosting moves cost, it rarely removes it.
Trial and free-tier conversion
Stated on the pricing page: $100 trial credit only lasts 14 days; production usage charges immediately after.
What triggers it. Triggered by the trial expiring or a free-tier limit being crossed. The $324 figure above starts counting from that moment, not from signature.
How to avoid it. Diarise the conversion date and the cancellation route on day one. An unmanaged trial converting to Standard Micro is the cheapest mistake on this page to prevent and the most common one to make.
