What WPForms costs over 36 months

Every figure below is WPForms's own published rate, annualised and multiplied out over 36 months at 1 account. Where WPForms publishes no rate, the row says so instead of guessing.

Plan Charged List rate At 1 account 36 months
Basic Flat, per month $4/mo $4/mo $144
Plus Flat, per month $8/mo $8/mo $288
Pro Flat, per month $17/mo $17/mo $612
Elite Flat, per month $25/mo $25/mo $900

Renewal sensitivity: three scenarios, not a forecast

Nobody knows what WPForms charges in 2029. The table below is arithmetic on a rate you choose, not a prediction: it compounds the year-one total forward at 0%, 5% and 10% so you can see how much of the 36-month figure is exposed to a renewal you have not negotiated yet.

If the rateYear 1Year 2Year 3Three-year total
Held flat $48 $48 $48 $144
5% a year $48 $50.40 $52.92 $151.32
10% a year $48 $52.80 $58.08 $158.88

Scenario arithmetic on WPForms's own published year-one figure. Uplift rates are illustrative inputs, not observed or predicted rates.

What sits outside the WPForms list price

4 lines, sorted by when in the contract lifecycle they land. Lines marked as derived are arithmetic on WPForms's own tier table rather than vendor prose.

Each line, what triggers it, and how to avoid it

Tax, FX and payment processing

Stated on the pricing page: 3% platform transaction fee on Basic and Plus tiers

What triggers it. This lands on the invoice, not the price page. WPForms quotes $4 a month for 1 account net of it, so the number you approve in a business case and the number finance pays reconcile only after tax and card handling are added.

How to avoid it. Ask for a tax-inclusive quote in your own currency. Cross-border billing on a three-year term is where FX drift quietly eats a discount you negotiated once.

Renewal and price changes

Stated on the pricing page: Introductory prices double on renewal ($99/$199/$399/$599)

What triggers it. The line that decides whether a three-year total is a plan or a guess. WPForms publishes what year one costs; this is about years two and three.

How to avoid it. Negotiate renewal terms at initial signature, not at renewal. Every month closer to your anniversary, the bargaining power moves to the vendor.

Tax, FX and payment processing

Stated on the pricing page: Prices exclude VAT and local sales tax

What triggers it. Triggered by where you buy from and how you pay. WPForms's published annual wordpress license by site count sets the list rate; jurisdiction and payment rail set what sits on top of it.

How to avoid it. You cannot avoid tax, but you can stop it surprising you: get the quote grossed up before it goes into the $144 business case. Where card fees apply, ask WPForms for invoice-and-bank-transfer terms instead.

Feature gated to a higher tier

Derived from the published tiers: Moving from Basic to Elite costs a further $756 over 36 months at 1 account, which is 6.3x the entry total.

What triggers it. Fires when a requirement lands that Basic does not cover. The jump is rarely proportional: you pay the higher tier across the whole 1 account basis to unlock one capability.

How to avoid it. Ask whether the capability can be bought as an add-on to Basic. Vendors frequently unbundle when the alternative is losing the deal.

How that compares across customer support and helpdesk software

The median customer support and helpdesk software tool we track charges $23.50 a month at its cheapest paid tier. Re-expressed on the same basis as the figure above, 1 account for 36 months, that median works out at $846.

WPForms lands $702 below that figure, 83.0%, measured across 60 tracked tools. A gap either way is a question, not a verdict: cheaper often means fewer included seats or a thinner support tier, and the fee lines below are where that difference usually reappears.

What changes at enterprise scale

Everything above prices the self-serve ladder. Enterprise sits off that ladder, which means the $144 figure is a floor for a large deployment rather than an estimate of one.

No standalone enterprise plan; Elite supports unlimited sites for agencies.

Frequently asked questions

How much does WPForms cost over three years?

$144 on Basic at 1 account, billed annually, which is $4 a month held flat for 36 months. That figure covers the subscription only.

Does paying WPForms annually save money?

WPForms publishes the same effective rate either way on Basic, so there is no prepay discount to capture. Keep the monthly option unless the vendor offers something for the commitment.

What does WPForms charge for outside the plan price?

4 lines: tax, fx and payment processing, renewal and price changes, tax, fx and payment processing, feature gated to a higher tier. Each one is broken down above with what triggers it and how to avoid it.

Could WPForms cost more at renewal?

Possibly, and nothing on this page predicts it. If the rate held flat the three-year total would be $144; at a hypothetical 10% a year it would be $158.88. Cap the uplift in the contract and the question stops mattering.

Is WPForms expensive for customer support and helpdesk software?

Over 36 months it lands $702 below the $846 category median, measured across 60 tracked tools on the same basis.
