What Tally costs over 36 months

Every figure below is Tally's own published rate, annualised and multiplied out over 36 months at 1 account. Where Tally publishes no rate, the row says so instead of guessing.

Plan Charged List rate At 1 account 36 months
Free Free $0 $0/mo $0
Pro Flat, per month $18/mo $18/mo $648
Business Flat, per month $59/mo $59/mo $2,124

Billing Tally monthly instead of annually costs $22 a month rather than $18, a difference of $144 across the 36 months. That is the single largest lever on this page that costs nothing to pull.

Renewal sensitivity: three scenarios, not a forecast

Nobody knows what Tally charges in 2029. The table below is arithmetic on a rate you choose, not a prediction: it compounds the year-one total forward at 0%, 5% and 10% so you can see how much of the 36-month figure is exposed to a renewal you have not negotiated yet.

If the rateYear 1Year 2Year 3Three-year total
Held flat $216 $216 $216 $648
5% a year $216 $226.80 $238.14 $680.94
10% a year $216 $237.60 $261.36 $714.96

Scenario arithmetic on Tally's own published year-one figure. Uplift rates are illustrative inputs, not observed or predicted rates.

What sits outside the Tally list price

5 lines, sorted by when in the contract lifecycle they land. Lines marked as derived are arithmetic on Tally's own tier table rather than vendor prose.

Each line, what triggers it, and how to avoid it

Paid add-on or module

Stated on the pricing page: Prices billed in EUR, USD conversion fluctuates at checkout

What triggers it. Fires on adoption, not on signature. Tally prices the platform at $18 a month for 1 account and the pieces separately, which is why quoted comparisons between tools so rarely describe the same scope.

How to avoid it. Review attached add-ons at each anniversary. Modules bought for one project keep billing long after the project ends.

Vendor-specific term

Stated on the pricing page: Annual plans get two months free, no other discounts disclosed

What triggers it. Vendor-specific mechanics, disclosed on Tally's own pricing material, which is why it appears here rather than surfacing later inside a contract.

How to avoid it. Add it to the evaluation checklist as an open question rather than assuming it is immaterial. On a $648 commitment, few of these are.

Contract and commitment terms

Derived from the published tiers: Tally Pro is $22 a month billed monthly against $18 on annual commitment, a $144 difference over 36 months at 1 account.

What triggers it. Triggered at signature. The $18 a month for 1 account rate is conditional on the commitment. Take the flexible route and the headline price is not the price you get.

How to avoid it. Price both routes before choosing. Committing three years to Tally for a discount is only rational if your online forms requirement is genuinely stable that long.

Trial and free-tier conversion

Derived from the published tiers: Tally publishes a free tier. Every 36-month figure above starts from the month you leave it, not from signup.

What triggers it. The clock, not a decision, triggers this one. Tally's free entry point ends on a date, and the $18 a month for 1 account rate starts whether or not anyone has finished evaluating.

How to avoid it. Diarise the conversion date and the cancellation route on day one. An unmanaged trial converting to Pro is the cheapest mistake on this page to prevent and the most common one to make.

Feature gated to a higher tier

Derived from the published tiers: Moving from Pro to Business costs a further $1,476 over 36 months at 1 account, which is 3.3x the entry total.

What triggers it. Fires when a requirement lands that Pro does not cover. The jump is rarely proportional: you pay the higher tier across the whole 1 account basis to unlock one capability.

How to avoid it. Test the gated feature during evaluation rather than trusting the comparison table. Capability names travel further than capabilities do.

How that compares across customer support and helpdesk software

The median customer support and helpdesk software tool we track charges $23.50 a month at its cheapest paid tier. Re-expressed on the same basis as the figure above, 1 account for 36 months, that median works out at $846.

Tally lands $198 below that figure, 23.4%, measured across 60 tracked tools. A gap either way is a question, not a verdict: cheaper often means fewer included seats or a thinner support tier, and the fee lines below are where that difference usually reappears.

What changes at enterprise scale

Everything above prices the self-serve ladder. Enterprise sits off that ladder, which means the $648 figure is a floor for a large deployment rather than an estimate of one.

No published enterprise tier; Business plan covers most team needs.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Tally cost over three years?

$648 on Pro at 1 account, billed annually, which is $18 a month held flat for 36 months. That figure covers the subscription only.

Does paying Tally annually save money?

Yes. Monthly billing costs $22 a month against $18 on annual commitment, a difference of $144 over 36 months at 1 account.

What does Tally charge for outside the plan price?

5 lines: paid add-on or module, vendor-specific term, contract and commitment terms, trial and free-tier conversion and 1 more. Each one is broken down above with what triggers it and how to avoid it.

Could Tally cost more at renewal?

Possibly, and nothing on this page predicts it. If the rate held flat the three-year total would be $648; at a hypothetical 10% a year it would be $714.96. Cap the uplift in the contract and the question stops mattering.

Is Tally expensive for customer support and helpdesk software?

Over 36 months it lands $198 below the $846 category median, measured across 60 tracked tools on the same basis.
