What Screencastify costs over 36 months

Every figure below is Screencastify's own published rate, annualised and multiplied out over 36 months at 10 users. Where Screencastify publishes no rate, the row says so instead of guessing.

Plan Charged List rate At 10 users 36 months
Starter Per user, per month $7/mo $70/mo $2,520
Pro Per user, per month $10/mo $100/mo $3,600

Billing Screencastify monthly instead of annually costs $190 a month rather than $70, a difference of $4,320 across the 36 months. That is the single largest lever on this page that costs nothing to pull.

The same plan at four team sizes

Screencastify charges per user, so the 36-month figure scales linearly with headcount. These are Starter totals, on annual billing, with no fees added.

Team size36-month total
5 users $1,260
10 users $2,520
25 users $6,300
50 users $12,600

Renewal sensitivity: three scenarios, not a forecast

Nobody knows what Screencastify charges in 2029. The table below is arithmetic on a rate you choose, not a prediction: it compounds the year-one total forward at 0%, 5% and 10% so you can see how much of the 36-month figure is exposed to a renewal you have not negotiated yet.

If the rateYear 1Year 2Year 3Three-year total
Held flat $840 $840 $840 $2,520

10% a year $840 $924 $1,016.40 $2,780.40

What sits outside the Screencastify list price

Each line, what triggers it, and how to avoid it

Paid add-on or module

Stated on the pricing page: Castify Transform AI documentation add-on for Pro and Enterprise

What triggers it. A separately-priced module. It stacks on top of the plan rate for as long as you keep it, and on a per-unit add-on it also scales with the 10 users basis.

How to avoid it. Bundle the add-ons into the initial negotiation. They are discounted far more readily at first signature than when added in year two as a mid-term upsell.

Renewal and price changes

Stated on the pricing page: Annual auto-renew unless cancelled before billing date

What triggers it. The line that decides whether a three-year total is a plan or a guess. Screencastify publishes what year one costs; this is about years two and three.

How to avoid it. Negotiate renewal terms at initial signature, not at renewal. Every month closer to your anniversary, the bargaining power moves to the vendor.

Paid add-on or module

Stated on the pricing page: Purchase orders only above $500

What triggers it. Fires on adoption, not on signature. Screencastify prices the platform at $70 a month for 10 users and the pieces separately, which is why quoted comparisons between tools so rarely describe the same scope.

How to avoid it. Review attached add-ons at each anniversary. Modules bought for one project keep billing long after the project ends.

Contract and commitment terms

Derived from the published tiers: Screencastify Starter is $190 a month billed monthly against $70 on annual commitment, a $4,320 difference over 36 months at 10 users.

What triggers it. Contract mechanics rather than a fee. They decide whether the $2,520 total is locked, and how expensive changing your mind in month 14 turns out to be.

How to avoid it. Read the auto-renewal and notice terms before the discount. A good rate on a contract you cannot leave is a worse deal than a fair rate on one you can.

Seat expansion

Derived from the published tiers: Five more users on Starter add $1,260 across 36 months, on top of the $2,520 above.

What triggers it. Growth is the trigger. Because Screencastify bills on a per-seat with edu and enterprise sales tiers, adding people mid-term adds cost on the original rate card, not on whatever you negotiated once.

How to avoid it. Audit entitlements quarterly. On a three-year term, seats assigned to people who left are the most reliably wasted money in the whole screen recording and async video budget.

How that compares across sales engagement and outbound tools

The median sales engagement and outbound tools tool we track charges $27 a month at its cheapest paid tier. Re-expressed on the same basis as the figure above, 10 users for 36 months, that median works out at $9,720.

Screencastify lands $7,200 below that figure, 74.1%, measured across 31 tracked tools. A gap either way is a question, not a verdict: cheaper often means fewer included seats or a thinner support tier, and the fee lines below are where that difference usually reappears.

What changes at enterprise scale

Everything above prices the self-serve ladder. Enterprise sits off that ladder, which means the $2,520 figure is a floor for a large deployment rather than an estimate of one.

Enterprise and EDU require sales contact for SSO, LMS integrations and central admin. Pricing scales by seat count.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Screencastify cost over three years?

$2,520 on Starter at 10 users, billed annually, which is $70 a month held flat for 36 months. That figure covers the subscription only.

Does paying Screencastify annually save money?

Yes. Monthly billing costs $190 a month against $70 on annual commitment, a difference of $4,320 over 36 months at 10 users.

What does Screencastify charge for outside the plan price?

5 lines: paid add-on or module, renewal and price changes, paid add-on or module, contract and commitment terms and 1 more. Each one is broken down above with what triggers it and how to avoid it.

Could Screencastify cost more at renewal?

Possibly, and nothing on this page predicts it. If the rate held flat the three-year total would be $2,520; at a hypothetical 10% a year it would be $2,780.40. Cap the uplift in the contract and the question stops mattering.

What does Screencastify cost for a team of 25?

$6,300 over 36 months on Starter, billed annually. Screencastify charges per user, so that scales directly with headcount.
