What RingCentral costs over 36 months

Every figure below is RingCentral's own published rate, annualised and multiplied out over 36 months at 10 users. Where RingCentral publishes no rate, the row says so instead of guessing.

Plan Charged List rate At 10 users 36 months
Core Per user, per month $20/mo $200/mo $7,200
Advanced Per user, per month $25/mo $250/mo $9,000
Ultra Per user, per month $35/mo $350/mo $12,600

Billing RingCentral monthly instead of annually costs $300 a month rather than $200, a difference of $3,600 across the 36 months. That is the single largest lever on this page that costs nothing to pull.

The same plan at four team sizes

RingCentral charges per user, so the 36-month figure scales linearly with headcount. These are Core totals, on annual billing, with no fees added.

Team size36-month total
5 users $3,600
10 users $7,200
25 users $18,000
50 users $36,000

Renewal sensitivity: three scenarios, not a forecast

Nobody knows what RingCentral charges in 2029. The table below is arithmetic on a rate you choose, not a prediction: it compounds the year-one total forward at 0%, 5% and 10% so you can see how much of the 36-month figure is exposed to a renewal you have not negotiated yet.

If the rateYear 1Year 2Year 3Three-year total
Held flat $2,400 $2,400 $2,400 $7,200
5% a year $2,400 $2,520 $2,646 $7,566
10% a year $2,400 $2,640 $2,904 $7,944

Each line, what triggers it, and how to avoid it

Paid add-on or module

Stated on the pricing page: AI Receptionist add-on starts at $39/month

What triggers it. Triggered by needing the capability, and then charged every cycle afterwards. Add-ons attach to the Core subscription permanently, so this is a recurring line the $7,200 figure does not contain.

How to avoid it. Review attached add-ons at each anniversary. Modules bought for one project keep billing long after the project ends.

Paid add-on or module

Stated on the pricing page: Business SMS Booster $25/month and Call Queues Booster $35/month

What triggers it. A separately-priced module. It stacks on top of the plan rate for as long as you keep it, and on a per-unit add-on it also scales with the 10 users basis.

How to avoid it. Build the shortlist at like-for-like scope. Price RingCentral with the add-ons you actually need against rivals with theirs, or the $7,200 comparison is measuring different products.

Vendor-specific term

Stated on the pricing page: Hardware must be returned within 21 days or charged

What triggers it. A RingCentral-specific term with no obvious analogue elsewhere in cloud pbx and unified comms. It matters because RingCentral lists at $200 a month for 10 users and this clause sits outside that unit entirely.

How to avoid it. Raise it explicitly during the RingCentral quote conversation and get the answer into the order form. What is not written into the contract is not part of the price you think you agreed.

Contract and commitment terms

Derived from the published tiers: RingCentral Core is $300 a month billed monthly against $200 on annual commitment, a $3,600 difference over 36 months at 10 users.

What triggers it. Triggered at signature. The $200 a month for 10 users rate is conditional on the commitment. Take the flexible route and the headline price is not the price you get.

How to avoid it. Read the auto-renewal and notice terms before the discount. A good rate on a contract you cannot leave is a worse deal than a fair rate on one you can.

Feature gated to a higher tier

Derived from the published tiers: Moving from Core to Ultra costs a further $5,400 over 36 months at 10 users, which is 1.8x the entry total.

What triggers it. Fires when a requirement lands that Core does not cover. The jump is rarely proportional: you pay the higher tier across the whole 10 users basis to unlock one capability.

How to avoid it. List every gated capability you will plausibly need in three years, then price RingCentral at that tier from the start. Comparing entry tiers you will not stay on is how a $7,200 plan becomes a much larger invoice.

Seat expansion

Derived from the published tiers: Five more users on Core add $3,600 across 36 months, on top of the $7,200 above.

What triggers it. Fires when the team grows or splits into differently-priced groups. Mixed entitlements are how a single-rate assumption stops describing your invoice.

How to avoid it. Audit entitlements quarterly. On a three-year term, seats assigned to people who left are the most reliably wasted money in the whole cloud pbx and unified comms budget.

How that compares across team communication software

The median team communication software tool we track charges $12.60 a month at its cheapest paid tier. Re-expressed on the same basis as the figure above, 10 users for 36 months, that median works out at $4,536.

RingCentral lands $2,664 above that figure, 58.7%, measured across 17 tracked tools. A gap either way is a question, not a verdict: cheaper often means fewer included seats or a thinner support tier, and the fee lines below are where that difference usually reappears.

What changes at enterprise scale

Everything above prices the self-serve ladder. Enterprise sits off that ladder, which means the $7,200 figure is a floor for a large deployment rather than an estimate of one.

Frequently asked questions

How much does RingCentral cost over three years?

$7,200 on Core at 10 users, billed annually, which is $200 a month held flat for 36 months. That figure covers the subscription only.

Does paying RingCentral annually save money?

Yes. Monthly billing costs $300 a month against $200 on annual commitment, a difference of $3,600 over 36 months at 10 users.

What does RingCentral charge for outside the plan price?

6 lines: paid add-on or module, paid add-on or module, vendor-specific term, contract and commitment terms and 2 more. Each one is broken down above with what triggers it and how to avoid it.

Could RingCentral cost more at renewal?

Possibly, and nothing on this page predicts it. If the rate held flat the three-year total would be $7,200; at a hypothetical 10% a year it would be $7,944. Cap the uplift in the contract and the question stops mattering.

What does RingCentral cost for a team of 25?

$18,000 over 36 months on Core, billed annually. RingCentral charges per user, so that scales directly with headcount.
