What Podia costs over 36 months

Every figure below is Podia's own published rate, annualised and multiplied out over 36 months at 1 account. Where Podia publishes no rate, the row says so instead of guessing.

Plan Charged List rate At 1 account 36 months
Mover Flat, per month $33/mo $33/mo $1,188
Shaker Flat, per month $75/mo $75/mo $2,700

Billing Podia monthly instead of annually costs $39 a month rather than $33, a difference of $216 across the 36 months. That is the single largest lever on this page that costs nothing to pull.

Renewal sensitivity: three scenarios, not a forecast

Nobody knows what Podia charges in 2029. The table below is arithmetic on a rate you choose, not a prediction: it compounds the year-one total forward at 0%, 5% and 10% so you can see how much of the 36-month figure is exposed to a renewal you have not negotiated yet.

If the rateYear 1Year 2Year 3Three-year total
Held flat $396 $396 $396 $1,188
5% a year $396 $415.80 $436.59 $1,248.39
10% a year $396 $435.60 $479.16 $1,310.76

Scenario arithmetic on Podia's own published year-one figure. Uplift rates are illustrative inputs, not observed or predicted rates.

Each line, what triggers it, and how to avoid it

Paid add-on or module

Stated on the pricing page: Mover plan charges 5% Podia fee

What triggers it. Triggered by needing the capability, and then charged every cycle afterwards. Add-ons attach to the Mover subscription permanently, so this is a recurring line the $1,188 figure does not contain.

How to avoid it. Bundle the add-ons into the initial negotiation. They are discounted far more readily at first signature than when added in year two as a mid-term upsell.

Tax, FX and payment processing

Stated on the pricing page: Stripe/PayPal 2.9% + 30¢ on top

What triggers it. A charge Podia collects but does not set. It moves with your billing entity and your card, which is why two teams on the same Mover plan can see different totals.

How to avoid it. You cannot avoid tax, but you can stop it surprising you: get the quote grossed up before it goes into the $1,188 business case. Where card fees apply, ask Podia for invoice-and-bank-transfer terms instead.

Usage and overage

Stated on the pricing page: Email subscriber count adds tiered cost

What triggers it. Usage, not people, drives this. That makes it the least predictable component of a three-year Podia commitment and the one most worth instrumenting early.

How to avoid it. Ask Podia for hard caps or alerting rather than silent overage billing. A limit that stops work is recoverable; an invoice you did not authorise is not.

Contract and commitment terms

Derived from the published tiers: Podia Mover is $39 a month billed monthly against $33 on annual commitment, a $216 difference over 36 months at 1 account.

What triggers it. Triggered at signature. The $33 a month for 1 account rate is conditional on the commitment. Take the flexible route and the headline price is not the price you get.

How to avoid it. Negotiate the exit, not just the entry: termination for convenience, a downgrade path, and what happens to prepaid money. Those clauses cost nothing at signature and everything later.

Feature gated to a higher tier

Derived from the published tiers: Moving from Mover to Shaker costs a further $1,512 over 36 months at 1 account, which is 2.3x the entry total.

What triggers it. Fires when a requirement lands that Mover does not cover. The jump is rarely proportional: you pay the higher tier across the whole 1 account basis to unlock one capability.

How to avoid it. Test the gated feature during evaluation rather than trusting the comparison table. Capability names travel further than capabilities do.

How that compares across hr, payroll, and hiring software

The median hr, payroll, and hiring software tool we track charges $75 a month at its cheapest paid tier. Re-expressed on the same basis as the figure above, 1 account for 36 months, that median works out at $2,700.

Podia lands $1,512 below that figure, 56.0%, measured across 34 tracked tools. A gap either way is a question, not a verdict: cheaper often means fewer included seats or a thinner support tier, and the fee lines below are where that difference usually reappears.

What changes at enterprise scale

Everything above prices the self-serve ladder. Enterprise sits off that ladder, which means the $1,188 figure is a floor for a large deployment rather than an estimate of one.

Podia does not publish an enterprise tier; pricing scales with email subscribers above 100.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Podia cost over three years?

$1,188 on Mover at 1 account, billed annually, which is $33 a month held flat for 36 months. That figure covers the subscription only.

Does paying Podia annually save money?

Yes. Monthly billing costs $39 a month against $33 on annual commitment, a difference of $216 over 36 months at 1 account.

What does Podia charge for outside the plan price?

5 lines: paid add-on or module, tax, fx and payment processing, usage and overage, contract and commitment terms and 1 more. Each one is broken down above with what triggers it and how to avoid it.

Could Podia cost more at renewal?

Possibly, and nothing on this page predicts it. If the rate held flat the three-year total would be $1,188; at a hypothetical 10% a year it would be $1,310.76. Cap the uplift in the contract and the question stops mattering.

Is Podia expensive for hr, payroll, and hiring software?

Over 36 months it lands $1,512 below the $2,700 category median, measured across 34 tracked tools on the same basis.
