Pixpa true cost: the 36-month total
Pixpa costs $216 over 36 months on Basic at 1 site, billed annually, before 4 cost lines that sit outside the plan price.
What Pixpa costs over 36 months
Every figure below is Pixpa's own published rate, annualised and multiplied out over 36 months at 1 site. Where Pixpa publishes no rate, the row says so instead of guessing.
Billing Pixpa monthly instead of annually costs $9 a month rather than $6, a difference of $108 across the 36 months. That is the single largest lever on this page that costs nothing to pull.
Renewal sensitivity: three scenarios, not a forecast
Nobody knows what Pixpa charges in 2029. The table below is arithmetic on a rate you choose, not a prediction: it compounds the year-one total forward at 0%, 5% and 10% so you can see how much of the 36-month figure is exposed to a renewal you have not negotiated yet.
One of these rows is measured rather than assumed. The last Pixpa list-price move we recorded was a cut of 40% on Creator, dated 12 June 2026. The bottom row replays that same rate across three years so you can see what a repeat would do.
Scenario arithmetic on Pixpa's own published year-one figure. Uplift rates are illustrative inputs, not observed or predicted rates.
What sits outside the Pixpa list price
4 lines, sorted by when in the contract lifecycle they land. Lines marked as derived are arithmetic on Pixpa's own tier table rather than vendor prose.
Each line, what triggers it, and how to avoid it
Paid add-on or module
Stated on the pricing page: Client gallery-only plans priced separately, so single-platform users may end up paying twice
What triggers it. Triggered by needing the capability, and then charged every cycle afterwards. Add-ons attach to the Basic subscription permanently, so this is a recurring line the $216 figure does not contain.
How to avoid it. Bundle the add-ons into the initial negotiation. They are discounted far more readily at first signature than when added in year two as a mid-term upsell.
Unpublished pricing
Stated on the pricing page: Custom domain registration billed separately from the site plan
What triggers it. Opacity rather than expense. It may cost nothing; the point is that neither you nor this page can currently tell, and a three-year commitment deserves better than that.
How to avoid it. Treat the unpublished element as a risk line in the business case with an explicit assumed value. A named assumption can be challenged; a gap cannot.
Contract and commitment terms
Derived from the published tiers: Pixpa Basic is $9 a month billed monthly against $6 on annual commitment, a $108 difference over 36 months at 1 site.
What triggers it. Contract mechanics rather than a fee. They decide whether the $216 total is locked, and how expensive changing your mind in month 14 turns out to be.
How to avoid it. Negotiate the exit, not just the entry: termination for convenience, a downgrade path, and what happens to prepaid money. Those clauses cost nothing at signature and everything later.
Feature gated to a higher tier
Derived from the published tiers: Moving from Basic to Professional costs a further $432 over 36 months at 1 site, which is 3.0x the entry total.
What triggers it. Triggered by needing one feature, not by growing. This is the mechanism that moves teams off Basic: a single requirement that only exists further up the ladder, at a rate that applies to every unit you buy.
How to avoid it. List every gated capability you will plausibly need in three years, then price Pixpa at that tier from the start. Comparing entry tiers you will not stay on is how a $216 plan becomes a much larger invoice.
How that compares across ecommerce platforms and operations
The median ecommerce platforms and operations tool we track charges $69 a month at its cheapest paid tier. Re-expressed on the same basis as the figure above, 1 site for 36 months, that median works out at $2,484.
Pixpa lands $2,268 below that figure, 91.3%, measured across 28 tracked tools. A gap either way is a question, not a verdict: cheaper often means fewer included seats or a thinner support tier, and the fee lines below are where that difference usually reappears.
What changes at enterprise scale
Everything above prices the self-serve ladder. Enterprise sits off that ladder, which means the $216 figure is a floor for a large deployment rather than an estimate of one.
No formal enterprise tier; Advanced and Unlimited gallery plans cover high-volume photographers and studios.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Pixpa cost over three years?
$216 on Basic at 1 site, billed annually, which is $6 a month held flat for 36 months. That figure covers the subscription only.
Does paying Pixpa annually save money?
Yes. Monthly billing costs $9 a month against $6 on annual commitment, a difference of $108 over 36 months at 1 site.
What does Pixpa charge for outside the plan price?
4 lines: paid add-on or module, unpublished pricing, contract and commitment terms, feature gated to a higher tier. Each one is broken down above with what triggers it and how to avoid it.
Could Pixpa cost more at renewal?
Possibly, and nothing on this page predicts it. If the rate held flat the three-year total would be $216; at a hypothetical 10% a year it would be $238.32. Cap the uplift in the contract and the question stops mattering.
Is Pixpa expensive for ecommerce platforms and operations?
Over 36 months it lands $2,268 below the $2,484 category median, measured across 28 tracked tools on the same basis.
