What Frontegg costs over 36 months

Every figure below is Frontegg's own published rate, annualised and multiplied out over 36 months at 1 account. Where Frontegg publishes no rate, the row says so instead of guessing.

Plan Charged List rate At 1 account 36 months
Pay As You Go Flat, per month $1/mo $1/mo $36
Enterprise Add-ons Flat, per month $100/mo $100/mo $3,600

Renewal sensitivity: three scenarios, not a forecast

Nobody knows what Frontegg charges in 2029. The table below is arithmetic on a rate you choose, not a prediction: it compounds the year-one total forward at 0%, 5% and 10% so you can see how much of the 36-month figure is exposed to a renewal you have not negotiated yet.

If the rateYear 1Year 2Year 3Three-year total
Held flat $12 $12 $12 $36
5% a year $12 $12.60 $13.23 $37.83
10% a year $12 $13.20 $14.52 $39.72

Scenario arithmetic on Frontegg's own published year-one figure. Uplift rates are illustrative inputs, not observed or predicted rates.

What sits outside the Frontegg list price

Each line, what triggers it, and how to avoid it

Usage and overage

Stated on the pricing page: Calculator-driven pricing for MAU, enterprise connection, and M2M token overages

What triggers it. Triggered by volume, which nobody forecasts well. The Pay As You Go plan includes an allowance; everything past it is priced separately and does not appear anywhere in the $36 subscription total.

How to avoid it. Negotiate committed-volume pricing if consumption is predictable at all. Over 36 months, a pre-committed rate beats list overage by a wide margin.

Feature gated to a higher tier

Stated on the pricing page: Multiple environments only on Enterprise

What triggers it. Fires when a requirement lands that Pay As You Go does not cover. The jump is rarely proportional: you pay the higher tier across the whole 1 account basis to unlock one capability.

How to avoid it. List every gated capability you will plausibly need in three years, then price Frontegg at that tier from the start. Comparing entry tiers you will not stay on is how a $36 plan becomes a much larger invoice.

Feature gated to a higher tier

Stated on the pricing page: Advanced fraud protection requires Enterprise

What triggers it. Triggered by needing one feature, not by growing. This is the mechanism that moves teams off Pay As You Go: a single requirement that only exists further up the ladder, at a rate that applies to every unit you buy.

How to avoid it. Ask whether the capability can be bought as an add-on to Pay As You Go. Vendors frequently unbundle when the alternative is losing the deal.

Support and SLA

Stated on the pricing page: Premium support requires Enterprise

What triggers it. Triggered the moment you need a guaranteed answer rather than a queue. Percentage-of-licence support pricing also means this line grows every time your Frontegg spend does.

How to avoid it. Decide whether you actually need a contractual SLA or just a fast queue, and price both. On a $36 commitment, Frontegg has room to include the lower tier rather than sell it.

How that compares across developer platforms, hosting, and dev tooling

The median developer platforms, hosting, and dev tooling tool we track charges $20 a month at its cheapest paid tier. Re-expressed on the same basis as the figure above, 1 account for 36 months, that median works out at $720.

Frontegg lands $684 below that figure, 95.0%, measured across 61 tracked tools. A gap either way is a question, not a verdict: cheaper often means fewer included seats or a thinner support tier, and the fee lines below are where that difference usually reappears.

What changes at enterprise scale

Everything above prices the self-serve ladder. Enterprise sits off that ladder, which means the $36 figure is a floor for a large deployment rather than an estimate of one.

Enterprise required for SLA, premium support, advanced fraud protection, and multiple environments. Quote-only pricing with custom add-ons.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Frontegg cost over three years?

$36 on Pay As You Go at 1 account, billed annually, which is $1 a month held flat for 36 months. That figure covers the subscription only.

Does paying Frontegg annually save money?

Frontegg publishes the same effective rate either way on Pay As You Go, so there is no prepay discount to capture. Keep the monthly option unless the vendor offers something for the commitment.

What does Frontegg charge for outside the plan price?

4 lines: usage and overage, feature gated to a higher tier, feature gated to a higher tier, support and sla. Each one is broken down above with what triggers it and how to avoid it.

Could Frontegg cost more at renewal?

Possibly, and nothing on this page predicts it. If the rate held flat the three-year total would be $36; at a hypothetical 10% a year it would be $39.72. Cap the uplift in the contract and the question stops mattering.

Is Frontegg expensive for developer platforms, hosting, and dev tooling?

Over 36 months it lands $684 below the $720 category median, measured across 61 tracked tools on the same basis.
