Formsite true cost: the 36-month total
Formsite costs $756 over 36 months on Personal at 1 account, billed annually, before 4 cost lines that sit outside the plan price.
What Formsite costs over 36 months
Every figure below is Formsite's own published rate, annualised and multiplied out over 36 months at 1 account. Where Formsite publishes no rate, the row says so instead of guessing.
Renewal sensitivity: three scenarios, not a forecast
Nobody knows what Formsite charges in 2029. The table below is arithmetic on a rate you choose, not a prediction: it compounds the year-one total forward at 0%, 5% and 10% so you can see how much of the 36-month figure is exposed to a renewal you have not negotiated yet.
Scenario arithmetic on Formsite's own published year-one figure. Uplift rates are illustrative inputs, not observed or predicted rates.
What sits outside the Formsite list price
4 lines, sorted by when in the contract lifecycle they land. Lines marked as derived are arithmetic on Formsite's own tier table rather than vendor prose.
Each line, what triggers it, and how to avoid it
Seat expansion
Stated on the pricing page: Extra sub-users $10/month each
What triggers it. Triggered by hiring. Every figure above is priced at 1 account; this line is what each unit past that costs, and it compounds for the remainder of the term rather than the remainder of the month.
How to avoid it. Get expansion pricing fixed in the order form for the full term. Without it, seats added in month 20 are quoted at list.
Infrastructure and hosting
Stated on the pricing page: Extra storage $10/month per GB
What triggers it. Scales with what you store and move, not with headcount. Formsite prices the plan at $21 a month for 1 account; this line prices the bytes underneath it, so it grows on a completely different curve to the $756 subscription.
How to avoid it. Model it at year-3 data volume, not today's. Ask Formsite what a customer with three years of history in online forms typically stores, then price that. The $756 plan figure assumes none of it.
Paid add-on or module
Stated on the pricing page: Results Docs add-on $50/month
What triggers it. Fires on adoption, not on signature. Formsite prices the platform at $21 a month for 1 account and the pieces separately, which is why quoted comparisons between tools so rarely describe the same scope.
How to avoid it. Bundle the add-ons into the initial negotiation. They are discounted far more readily at first signature than when added in year two as a mid-term upsell.
Feature gated to a higher tier
Derived from the published tiers: Moving from Personal to Enterprise costs a further $6,768 over 36 months at 1 account, which is 10.0x the entry total.
What triggers it. Fires when a requirement lands that Personal does not cover. The jump is rarely proportional: you pay the higher tier across the whole 1 account basis to unlock one capability.
How to avoid it. Ask whether the capability can be bought as an add-on to Personal. Vendors frequently unbundle when the alternative is losing the deal.
How that compares across customer support and helpdesk software
The median customer support and helpdesk software tool we track charges $23.50 a month at its cheapest paid tier. Re-expressed on the same basis as the figure above, 1 account for 36 months, that median works out at $846.
Formsite lands $90 below that figure, 10.6%, measured across 60 tracked tools. A gap either way is a question, not a verdict: cheaper often means fewer included seats or a thinner support tier, and the fee lines below are where that difference usually reappears.
What changes at enterprise scale
Everything above prices the self-serve ladder. Enterprise sits off that ladder, which means the $756 figure is a floor for a large deployment rather than an estimate of one.
Self-serve Enterprise plan at $209/month is the top published tier; larger volumes require custom quote.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Formsite cost over three years?
$756 on Personal at 1 account, billed annually, which is $21 a month held flat for 36 months. That figure covers the subscription only.
Does paying Formsite annually save money?
Formsite publishes the same effective rate either way on Personal, so there is no prepay discount to capture. Keep the monthly option unless the vendor offers something for the commitment.
What does Formsite charge for outside the plan price?
4 lines: seat expansion, infrastructure and hosting, paid add-on or module, feature gated to a higher tier. Each one is broken down above with what triggers it and how to avoid it.
Could Formsite cost more at renewal?
Possibly, and nothing on this page predicts it. If the rate held flat the three-year total would be $756; at a hypothetical 10% a year it would be $834.12. Cap the uplift in the contract and the question stops mattering.
Is Formsite expensive for customer support and helpdesk software?
Over 36 months it lands $90 below the $846 category median, measured across 60 tracked tools on the same basis.
